Job Description

A highly motivated candidate is sought for a Research and Development Biologist position. The successful applicant will provide technical and scientific assistance for biological assays, cell cultures, and work with laboratory animals. The position is available immediately with the possibility for annual renewal based on performance evaluation and funding availability.

Job Responsibilities

The R&D Biologist will be involved in performing day to day laboratory experiments related to biological assays, cell cultures, handling and/or testing of rodent laboratory animals (primarily mice). Expertise either in genotyping/transgenic colony maintenance or primary cell culture will be considered a major strength.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a BS in biology, pharmaceutical sciences, health sciences, pharmacology, life sciences or a related field and two years of related experience. Applicants should have experience either in (1) handling/behaviorally testing mice and conducting related biochemical assays or (2) working with cell culture models and conducting molecular/cellular biology techniques. Applicants should be enthusiastic, willing to incorporate previously learned techniques with new approaches, and able to perform and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks.
