The University of Mississippi is searching for an Associate Director of Intensive English Program (IEP) who reports to the Senior Director of the IEP. The Associate Director oversees recruitment, marketing, and development efforts for the IEP and collaborates with the Senior Director on the management of the IEP. The Associate Director provides leadership and strategic direction for all aspects IEP recruitment, including but not limited to, marketing, partnership development and management, and admissions processes. The Associate Director of the IEP position is a 12-month contract appointment.
This position will be a faculty and leadership position in an Intensive English Program (IEP) in an academic environment.
Oversee strategic planning for recruitment to all IEP programs;
Collaborate with Senior Director to create a recruitment plan that fits UM needs;
Analyze recruitment plans of other successful IEP programs;
Prepare and present quarterly reports on recruitment process;
Coordinate and execute all processes associated with recruitment plan;
Represent IEP internationally at educational fairs and other events;
Travel internationally to support recruitment initiatives;
Prepare and deliver workshops to prospective partners and students domestically and internationally;
Develop and implement marketing materials and strategies;
Work with IEP and UM staff to develop and maintain promotional materials;
Lead web-based initiatives;
Coordinate writing, editing, proofing, designing, and production of all marketing materials;
Identify, initiate, and develop new partner relationships for the IEP and UM both domestically and internationally;
Attend NAFSA and other conferences as needed to cultivate relationships, learn trends, and stay current in the field;
Develop and implement policies for contractual agreements with partner institutions (MOUs);
Maintain and nurture existing partner relationships;
Identify, train, and maintain effective agent partnerships;
Supervise international admissions and recruitment coordinator and affiliated graduate assistants;
Oversee the IEP admissions funnel from initial inquiry to arrival;
Lead coordinator and staff tasked with marketing, recruitment, and admissions support;
Facilitate admissions team meetings;
Oversee creation and maintenance of contact lists for admissions;
Provide recommendations for new program development that aligns with international education trends through research and market evaluation;
Keep informed on trends that may impact the flow of students into the US (e.g., economic, political, educational);
Support the Senior Director in development of new programs based on trends.
Additional Expectations of the Associate Director of the IEP:
Assist the Senior Director in the management of the program;
Communicate with faculty on issues related to the operation of the IEP;
Observe faculty yearly as part of the formal evaluation process;
Serve as director in the Senior Director’s absence;
Teach IEP courses and be an effective classroom teacher at all levels of the program.
PhD degree in TESL, education, English, or a closely related field; or a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of related experience.
