Job Description

The Ole Miss Athletics Marketing and Fan-Experience Department strives to innovative the overall brand of Ole Miss Athletics, as well as enhance the in-game experience for its fans, student-athletes, community, and corporate partners.

The marketing department is seeking thirteen (13) students interested in pursuing a career in marketing or other related fields to join our 2017-2018 student worker program. Successful candidates will work closely with staff, graduate assistants, and other interns to develop and execute initiatives that enhance the excitement of Ole Miss Athletics.

Job Responsibilities

Successful candidates will work in collaboration with other student-workers under the direction of Administrative Leadership and Graduate Assistants within the Ole Miss Athletics Marketing Department.

Student-workers will be tasked with executing game day set-up and other responsibilities at the direction of marketing department supervisors, as well as weekly office hours. Office tasks include, but are not limited to: social media content development, promotional item development, attendance at administrative meetings, video production coordination, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate should be interested in pursuing a career in marketing and should possess strong customer service and organizational skills. A desired interest to work in the sports industry is appreciated, but not necessary. Time management skills are assumed qualities of every successful candidate. Candidates should be aware of the urgency of certain projects and the importance that their deadlines are met. Candidates should be comfortable and able to communicate effectively with the public and follow through with minimal direction. Preparation and execution of in-game contests must be done quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Candidates should be comfortable in front of large crowds. The ability to learn and implement basic computer software programs is required as well as a familiarity with social media platforms.

Sports, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Event Management, Operations
