Job Description

This position provides leadership, coordination, and expertise in designing and implementing division-wide data, assessment initiatives and divisional planning efforts. The incumbent collaborates with departments to enhance data models/reports, develops executive reporting of student affairs data, coordinates divisional planning efforts, leads departmental budget development, and serves as the primary liaison with the Office of Institutional Research, Effectiveness and Planning. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

Job Responsibilities

Examples of Work Performed :
Manages and participates in division-wide data analysis, assessment, planning, and budget development.

Provides clear, accessible statistics for departmental leaders and decision makers.

Collaborates and consults with the Office of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning for research requests.

Prepares presentations to support strategic and operational planning and decision making. Communicates complex statistical and theoretical information for diverse audiences.

Coordinates institutional effectiveness activities within the Division of Student Affairs.

Facilitates assessment activities including survey administration, data analysis, and use of assessment results.

Monitors and maintains the budget for the office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and prepares annual budget requests.

Conducts independent research projects and benchmarking studies relevant to student affairs practices.

Leads departmental budget development, goal setting, divisional planning, and provides budget training workshops.

Provides onboarding resources for new employees within the division.

Interfaces with the Office of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning to prepare trend analysis reports and forecasts, and creates and maintains effective yield models and provides interval estimates of first-year enrollment.

Interfaces with the Office of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning to monitor strategic initiative progress.

Acts as a liaison with IREP regarding undergraduate recruitment and retention data models.

Provides oversight for the Division of Student Affairs Professional Development Committee, including assessment-focused professional development activities.

Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring Department.

1. Manages and participates in division-wide data analysis and assessment and directs divisional planning efforts.

2. Serves as the divisional liaison with Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning.

3. Reviews policies and conducts research to determine necessary changes and direction.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Master’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in higher education, business, computer science or a related field.

AND

Experience:
Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties.

Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
