Job Description

This position assists the Director of Pre-College Programs with oversight of daily operations and supervision of staff to support summer programs and academic competitions. The incumbent manages student programs, collaborates with the director to develop and implement policies and procedures, and participates in strategic planning sessions. This position reports to the Director of Pre-College Programs.

Job Responsibilities

Manages hiring, training, and evaluation of work for the staff with the Pre-College Programs unit.

Maintains program budgets, prepares reports on enrollments, income, and expenditures and participates in annual budget development.

Collaborates with the director on strategic planning, policy/protocol development and review, and assessment and evaluation for Pre-College Programming.

Develops, revises and implements support documents for programs, including student and program handbooks, policies and procedures manuals, emergency management plans, etc.

Coordinates and oversees scholarship awards, uploads, billing, payroll processing, student enrollments for programs, and other student needs.

Conducts annual reviews of policies and procedures and provides updates when necessary.

Develops orientation programming for summer counselors and summer teaching staff.

Works with director to generate SACS evaluations and reports.

Coordinates and supervises summer programs and academic competitions.

Facilitates communication and networking among project participants and external entities.

Ensures compliance with university policies and procedures.

Travels with participants for program activities as needed.

Supervises, trains, and coordinates the activities of the subordinate staff.

Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring Department.

1. Develops, promotes, and manages daily operations.

2. Provides guidance and supervision of support staff.

3. Engages in strategic planning and policy implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.

AND

Experience:
Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties.

Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
