Job Description

The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12-month tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will be located on the Jackson, MS campus. Academic responsibilities include teaching PY1 and PY2 students in a Skills Laboratory course, facilitation and involvement in a problem-based learning course (PY2 and PY3), and training of pharmacy students on practice experiences (IPPE and APPE) and precept residents. In scholarship, the candidate will be required to develop and/or maintain an independent research program, publish results in peer-reviewed journals, and teach and mentor students and residents in research experiences. Opportunities exist in adult internal medicine, oncology and other specialty areas. Job Responsibilities

The candidate will be required to develop or maintain a patient care practice. The exact emphasis on responsibilities is flexible and will be tailored to meet the individual professional goals of the candidate and as agreed upon by the candidate and department chair. In service or citizenship, the candidate will be required to serve the department, the school, and university according to needs and interest. Participation and leadership in professional and scientific organizations is encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited School/College of Pharmacy with residency and or fellowship, be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a pharmacist by the State of Mississippi. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, service, and scholarship, and competence as a clinician. Board certification is encouraged.
