Job Description

A Croft Assistant or Associate Professor of Spanish. The appointment will begin in August 2018.

Job Responsibilities

Duties include teaching upper-level classes in the Spanish language and field(s) of specialization; helping Croft students studying Spanish achieve high levels of proficiency; maintaining successful research; and performing service to the Department of Modern Languages and the Croft Institute.

Minimum Qualifications

Required qualifications include a PhD in hand at the time of application, a strong research profile in foreign-language pedagogy, native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, and familiarity with ACTFL guidelines (or equivalent). Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching at the college level, specifically in proficiency-oriented courses designed to help students achieve advanced or superior levels of Spanish.
