Job Description

The Ole Miss Athletics Game Operations Department strives to provide a safe, organized, and pleasant game experience at all Ole Miss Athletic competitions for fans, student-athletes, game officials, community, and corporate partners.

This position within the Game Operations Department is designed to strategically meet game operations goals inside the Ole Miss Athletics Department while also providing real-world event management experiences that can be implemented into a variety of industries including intercollegiate and professional athletics management.

Job Responsibilities

The Game Operations Department is seeking students interested in pursuing a career in event management or other similarly related fields to fill positions for our 2017-2018 student assistant program.

Successful candidates will work in collaboration with other student assistants and Event Operations Group security personnel as well as under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director, Assistant Director of Game Operations, Assistant Director of Event Management Operations, Game Operations Coordinators, Game Operations Intern, and other members of the Ole Miss Game Operations and Facilities Department.

Student Assistants will be tasked with executing game day set-up, game day responsibilities at the direction of their game operations department supervisor and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A desired interest to work in the sports industry is appreciated, but not necessary, however the successful candidate will be highly motivated to represent Ole Miss Athletics. Time management skills are assumed qualities of every successful candidate as is a willingness to perform required manual labor which may include lifting, carrying, long periods of standing and walking, and other duties as assigned. Candidates should be aware of the urgency of certain projects and the importance that their deadlines are met. Candidates should be comfortable in front of large crowds, and able to communicate effectively with the public and follow through with minimal direction.

Ideal candidates should be interested in pursuing careers in the following fields:
Sports, Event Management, Operations, Facility Management, Athletic Administration
